Alligator Loki Just Recreated Everyone’s Favorite Cat Meme

Alligator Loki Infinity Comic #10 features the lovable Alligator and Thor hilariously recreating the iconic Smudge the Cat/Real Housewives meme.

Warning: spoilers ahead for Alligator Loki Infinity Comic #10

The adorable and now infamous alligator loki has hilariously recreated the iconic meme featuring Smudge the Cat and some Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast members, while crashing a charity benefit hosted by Tony Stark. Marvel’s animal-focused Infinity Comics like alligator loki and the cute cat marvel meow all feature meme-worthy content, but this week’s meme homage may just take the cake.

The “Woman Yelling at a Cat” meme gained popularity in 2019 after Twitter user @MISSINGEGIRL first put the two images together in 2019 before a bunch of social media users made it go viral with a metric ton of different memes. The image features the adorable Smudge the Cat grumpily staring at a plate of vegetables while seemingly being yelled at by RHOBH cast member Taylor Armstrong who is being comforted by Costar Kyle Richards.

Alligator Loki Infinity Comic #10 – written by Alyssa Wong (Doctor Aphra, New Mutants) with art by Bob Quinn (Knights of X, Way of X) and color by Pete Pantazis (Venom Rescue) – features a hilarious “team up” between the human Loki and his alligator counterpart. The entire run of alligator loki comics have been about Alligator Loki getting into shenanigans because of his mischievous ways, and issue #10 is no different, with both human and alligator Loki’s crashing Tony Stark’s “Stark Annual Benefit,” which seems to be a masked benefit gala featuring many of Marvel’s highest profile superheroes. As heroes like Emma Frost, Bishop, Luke Cage, Danny Rand, Falcon, Thor, and Captain America gather to raise money (for… something?) and party together, the two Loki’s break in through a portal. The meme recreation, posted to Twitter by @ThorLawyerhappens after Alligator Loki destroys a table of buffet food to get treats, with Thor taking the place of Taylor Armstrong and Captain America comforting him like Kyle Richards.

Human Loki is clearly after the Infinity Gauntlet on display, although it seems unlikely Stark would leave the real gauntlet in such an easily accessible case, but Alligator Loki has other things on his mind… mainly food. While a crossover between Real Housewives of Beverly Hills might seem like the weirdest possible Marvel-connected piece of media, the fact is that 80% of Marvel comics are about friend and family drama, meaning the Avengers and X-Men are more similar to the cast of RHOBH than most may think. Plus, the entire concept of Alligator Loki is almost one big meme itself, seeing as the character was seen for around 20 seconds in the first season of Disney+’s Loki, which catapulted the Loki variant to quick fame, landing him his very own meme-able Infinity Comic. Artist Bob Quinn was able to so perfectly capture Smudge the Cat’s expression in Alligator Loki’s face, looking somehow vicious, pleased, and confused all at once, and it is truly hilarious to see Thor get so upset at Alligator Loki for ruining the Benefit, just like viewers can’t help but laugh when a RHOBH cast member get’s a bit too dramatic than they need to be.

Alyssa Wong’s hilarious take on alligator loki as Smudge the Cat and Thor/Captain America as Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast members is truly the perfect meme for the absolutely bonkers comic adventures that Alligator Loki has been on, and it is great to see Marvel Comics being able to not take themselves too seriously by recreating one of the internet’s most beloved cat memes.
