Keiser University Pitch Contest Provides Valuable Opportunities to Realize Entrepreneurial Goals

Keiser University’s SEAHAWK Tank Pitch Contest has recently offered a great opportunity for students to kick-start their entrepreneurial endeavours. The contest was facilitated by professor George Stamas the all-systems competition held in Keiser’s West Palm Beach Flagship campus offered students the chance to pitch their ideas to an industry panel of judges with the hope of winning cash prizes.

The top prize winners were:

1st Place – $4,000

Nadine Turner-Crosdale, Pembroke Pines Campus

Business Concept The Fore-Play Dessert Boutique is a restaurant with full-service that serves Creole-inspired meals and delicious desserts.

  • 2nd Place – $2500
  • Claudia Gomez: Pembroke Pines Campus
  • Business Idea: Watch the Birdie Photography app, which specialises in creating fantasy-like images for children and later making a collage of pictures.
  • 3rd Place – $1250
  • Danitza Sersen: Lauderdale Campus
  • Business Idea: Dolan, an online store that sells top-quality goods to the Americas to create opportunities for small-scale companies.
  • The remaining finalist was given $425.
  • Linnea Axengren: Flagship Campus
  • A Business Concept: CanBack, a can recycling system which includes machines for customers who earn store credits through the CanBack account.
  • Michela Tjan Sakti Effendie: Flagship Campus
  • Business Concept: Bangka Shrimp, a shrimp farm in Indonesia, is where shrimp are raised with saltwater and fed organic food items.
  • Adolfo Diaz: Flagship Campus
  • Business Concept: Lotus Systems, a blockchain-powered Defi system that can streamline peer-to-peer transactions using embedded tokens, contracts, and NFTs.
  • Daniella Zaldana, Christof Buehler, David AArhammar: Flagship Campus
  • The Business Plan: CEPS, a cloud portal used by a third party to connect employers with vetted employees.
  • Gunnar Poley, Flagship Campus
  • A Business Plan: Sashimi, a provider of traditional Greek healthy snacks that are based on recipes from past Greece.

Bradley Gies

Brad Gies is a practising lawyer located in Palm Beach County, Florida. He offers legal advice for small and medium-sized enterprises and new ventures concentrating on commercial transactions and intellectual property. He is a native of Palm Beach County. He received an honours degree in the University of Florida. The University of Florida then completed his studies at Law School at the University of Florida, Levin College of Law in 2021. 2022 was the year he put the shingle’ and established the firm of his own, Bradley Gies P.A.

Christopher Losquadro

Chris Losquadro is the Principal Broker and the Managing Director of Quantum Realty Advisors, Inc. A boutique real brokerage and advisory firm based within Palm Beach Gardens. Florida. He has worked in the commercial real estate industry for over 25 years. He is a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees from Florida Atlantic University.

Dr John Dobson

John Dobson is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Graduate School of Management at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts and an Adjunct Professor at the Harvard Extension School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Before his academic career, He was an entrepreneur with a lot of success throughout and after college. His primary focus is the application of entrepreneurial theories to address problems. He then uses it to enhance student education in classrooms that is based on problem-solving methods rather than processes-based (traditional) modes. He earned a DBA from The University of Manchester in Manchester, United Kingdom (2014) and an MSc in Development Management at the London School of Economics.

The Keiser University degree program in the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an Entrepreneurship concentration promotes the goals of profitability, innovation sustainability, and growth. Entrepreneurship also brings economic, environmental, and social benefits by fostering innovation and creativity. The Entrepreneurship Concentration examines the current methods, thinking and practices, as well as the necessary skills required to build sustainable businesses and enhance the performance of existing enterprises.
